Troisième Sexe is a two-colour crescent shawl knitted from the top down. With the first colour, you will work a series of interesting stitch patterns. With the second, you will repeat a lively diamond lace pattern, concluding with an edging of dotted lace.

You will need:
-Two skeins of fingering or light fingering weight yarn (350-550 m/382-600 yards/100 g).
Sample shown in Fonty Moustache (50% merino, 30% kid mohair, 20% silk, 225 m/246 yards/50 g),colour 408-Ivory (colour A, 440 m/481 yards used) and 423-Black (colour B, 450 m/492 yards used).
- 3.75 mm (US 5), at least 80 cm/32 inches long circular needles (or size to obtain the gauge).

Gauge
22 stitches × 31 rows = 10 cm/4 inches in stocking stitch (unstretched).
16 stitches × 38 rows = 10 cm/4 inches in lace pattern (blocked).
Gauge is not crucial for this shawl. It is a good idea to knit a swatch in the lace pattern to see how your fabric will look after blocking. If you work at a different gauge, your need in yardage may vary.
