“Trust Me” silk fingerless mitts are designed to showcase the beauty of silk yarn. Silk, used for mitts and gloves before the introduction of synthetics, is relatively warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Known for its beautiful appearance, knitting with pure silk yarn presents a challenge. Effective silk designs counterbalance the fiber’s inelastic and slippery characteristics with stitch selection.

Knit in the round, this design uses a variation of a “cabled horizontal rib” to create elasticity (memory). The result is a reversible mitt with a decorative side and a simple side.

Tips for silk are included at the end of the pattern.

One to two skeins of Laines du Nord Mulberry Silk are required.
