A playful twist on the classic 5-point star for a charming and cozy blanket, bordered with a pattern echoing the points of the stars again. The blanket was designed using Loops & Threads Woolike a light fingering or “#1”, weight yarn. You can easily adapt the pattern to suit various sizes by changing the weight of the yarn and the number of repeats you use.

To make the pattern as designed, you will need 3 skeins of Loops & Threads Woolike yarn and a D (3.25mm) crochet hook.

It is helpful to to work with a slightly smaller gauge than you might be used to. While you don’t want a stiff blanket, you don’t want your stitches so open that you lose the ch-1 spaces which create the design either. If your natural dc gauge is quite loose, it maybe be helpful to go down a hook size. Remember to make a gauge swatch before starting your project. (3 skeins will give you plenty of yarn for swatching)
