The Turas-Mara Shawl
The fourth installment of our Outlander Shawl Series required something extra special. As always when developing my Outlander designs, I had to carefully search what this story means to me, where it’s been and where it’s headed. If our beloved Claire and Jamie have anything in way of predicitability in their lives, it’s that their lives are the most unpredictable, and their journey takes them throught time and space. Hence, The Turas-Mara Shawl was born. This name meaning ‘voyager’ in Gaelic is a true journey in itself to create. Three colors of fingering weight yarn comprise this half-pi shawl, switching between lace stitches and colors to create a gorgeous, giant, cozy work of art. Let this shawl be a testament to your knitting journey as you try out new techniques, relish in old ones, and create something beautiful and timeless to accompany you on all your future voyages! Now, pack your project bags with a tonal, a speckled, and a variegated, grab your favorite hot beverage, and let’s begin!

3 skeins of fingering weight yarn, at around 430 yards each:
