Turvin measure approx. 17 cm x 27 cm ( 7 in x 11 in )
It is worked in the round using double-pointed needles or circular needles with the magic loop technique.
The beard, hat and mittens are worked separately and sewn onto the body.
Turvin, unlike many other gnomes, has a head, so the hat can be removable, and you can also embroider eyes on the gnome if you wish.
Minimum skills:
- Knit and purl stitches
- Increases and decreases
- Circular knitting with DPNs or circulars (magic loop)
- Colorwork (knitting with two colours)

Use two yarn thicknesses:
the yarn for the body should be twice as thick as the yarn for the hat.
In the sample:
Body yarn: 140m / 100g
Hat yarn: 280m / 100g
Option 2:
Use yarn of the same thickness.
In that case:
body - work with 2 strands held together,
hat and mittens - work with 1 strand.
Yardage:
Colour A (body): 70 g
Colour B (beard): 25 g
Color C (hat and mittens) - 20 g
Color D (hat and mittens) - 30 g
Needles
- 5-5.5 mm ( US 8-9 ) double-pointed or circular needles for the body
- 3-3.5 mm ( US 3-4 ) double-pointed or circular needles for hat and mittens
Others
- Stuffing for toys 50-60 gr
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch markers
