Tussock uses a lace pattern by Naomi Parkhurst called Friendship, but the lace looks like a moth to me. The colors in the yarn remind me of the Tussock Moth, hence the name of the shawl. The lace pattern is a bit unusual and requires some concentration. The sample was knit with Tartlet Sport from Kim Dyes Yarn in the Mushroom Bisque colorway.

While the sample was knit with sport weight yarn, this shawl could easily be knit with any weight yarn from light fingering to light dk. The width and length are easily adjusted. The pattern works well with solids, semi-solids, gradients, or lightly speckled yarns.
