Twilight
Twilight is a one-piece crescent shaped shawl, designed based on Shetland lace knitting techniques. The bead stitch pattern is used for the lace section requiring mainly basic lace knitting stitches eg. k2tog, ssk and yarnover.
The project kicks off with a garter tab and finishes with an edging pattern modelled very closely to a highly popular Shetland lace edging pattern. This edging is knitted perpendicularly to the main body of the shawl.
The sample grey superwash is an understated color and the shawl looks like one I would wrap up at twilight near a fireplace on a cold misty night. The size is large enough to cover the wearer’s arms -- so a very satisfactory wrap around; and going about during the day the wearer looks well dressed with the shawl worn over casual wear. The shawl can be stunning and it does draw unexpected glances.
There is no written instruction. All instructions are charted and Stitch Guide is provided with the charts.
