“Twined” or “twisted” knitting is worked with two strands of yarn, traditionally the same color, but using two different colors creates interesting textures, especially when one is a variegated yarn. As you knit, each strand is twisted around the other on the wrong side, making the wrong side very attractive. Twined knitting results in a thicker and warmer fabric that is much more elastic than stranded knitting. Detailed instructions for “twined knitting” are included. Chunky or heavy worsted weight yarn is used and worked on US size 10 needles. 130 yards for each yarn color are needed.
