Simple Cable Headband for Beginners

’A simple, quick-to-knit, headband with central cable and garter stitch border’

There are instructions for three different widths:

small: 6.5cm wide (pictured in WI Premium Acrylic DK in Teal)
medium: 7.5cm wide (pictured in Rowan Alpaca DK in Blue)
large: 8.5cm wide (pictured in Mariner Acrylic DK in Beige).

MATERIALS
1 50g ball of any double-knitting yarn
A pair of 4 mm (UK 8, US 6) knitting needles
A 4 mm cable needle
A tapestry needle

MEASUREMENTS
The headband can be made to any length, with a headband that fits an adult being between 51 – 56 cm (20 – 22 inches).

TENSION
22 sts and 30 rows over 10 cm (4“) using 4 mm needles and stocking stitch

VARIATIONS
There are instructions for three different widths:

Small: 6.5 cm (2.5“) wide
Medium: 7.5 cm (3“)wide
Large: 8.5 cm (3.5“) wide
