Twist Chunky Cable headband

If you are not new to knitting, but are new to cables, then this may be a good beginner’s pattern to try. The main pattern has a simple 10 row repeat with a garter stitch border and a stocking stitch background to the central cable (with purl stitches to the front). There is a chart and written instructions and a photo-illustrated guide to the provisional cast on and three needle bind off method.

Materials
1 100g ball of Lopi Alafosslopi (100% wool, 100m/110 yrds per 100g)
A pair of 6.5 mm knitting needles
A 6.5 mm cable needle (UK 3, US 10.5) knitting needles
A tapestry needle

Techniques
Casting on, Casting off, joining two ends of fabric to form a loop, Knit, Purl and Cable stitches, provisional cast on, three needle bind off.
