The finished cowl is light and has a beautiful drape, but the yarn also makes it a very warm piece. I think this is going to be a new favorite yarn and cowl of yours! Cowl is sized at 31” x 12”. Made with an acrylic and alpaca blend yarn, it’s soft, warm, and machine washable!

I found this Lion Brand Touch of Alpaca yarn on sale one day, and I HAD to have it! It’s so soft, and so squishy, and so luxurious…but also very affordable. So I grabbed a skein and held onto it until I found the perfect stitch and project for it. I ran across the twisted stockinette stitch and immediately knew it was perfect for this yarn.

I was surprised by how little the yarn split while working up the project, and it was such a joy to work with this soft fiber. If you don’t have access to this yarn, or prefer synthetic fibers, you can absolutely substitute another weight 4 yarn. I would recommend using something with a similar light feel/drape, like Lion Brand Heartland or Caron Simply Soft. Check your gauge, and adjust your cast on if needed, just making sure you’re casting on an even numbered multiple of 3, to keep both the seed stitch edges and main stitch counts correct.
