A big hug of merino, alpaca and angora! The design for this shawl was inspired by Skacel’s 2013 Fiber Factor Challenge “Blank Slate”. The rectangular shape consists of a lengthwise braided cable framed asymmetrically with rows of pleated garter stitch. The braided cable includes a “barred stitch”, reminiscent of train tracks, featured in Barbara Walker’s The Craft of Cable-Stitch Knitting. The “barred” technique is also applied to the edges of the wrap to create a line of tracks on each edge. Pattern consists of written, line by line, instruction. A chart for the cable section is also provided.

Hikoo Kenzie is a wonderful worsted weight yarn with a subtle tweed effect and generous yardage! Merino, angora and alpaca lend softness and body, nylon lends strength and silk noils contribute delicate texture and color accents.
