These patterns are one-row patterns. The first is a variation of the Faggot Rib Stitch, with a herringbone variation included. The second pattern is for a Farrow Rib scarf, with both scarf edges having an similar looking edge.

These patterns can be used on any yarn from No, 1 sock wt to Worsted Wt and use a needle one to two sizes larger than recommended on ball band. Although the Farrow rib in worsted wt can be done on a US 8 size needle.

As a scarf, the knitter can work to her/his desired length. The width as specified by stitch number in pattern is about 5.5 inches but can be widened by the addition of the specified multiples of stitches.

For both patterns, for a width of about 5.5” by 60” length, I used about 5 oz. of worsted weight on US 9 needles.
