The Type-V Cardigan is a top-down, V-neck cardigan featuring a relaxed silhouette with generous ease throughout the body and sleeves. The design combines a deep yoke and cropped length with a shaped back hem for a modern, balanced look. With its comfortable fit and effortless style, it looks just as great layered over a simple T-shirt as over thicker tops.
The project begins at the neck edge, where the back neck is shaped while forming the neckline. The yoke is worked with a modified raglan construction. After the sleeve separation, the body is worked flat to the ribbed hem, while the sleeves are worked in the round. Finally, stitches are picked up along the front edges to create a 1×1 rib button band, with buttonholes worked simultaneously.
Since the cardigan is worked top-down, you can try it on as you go to adjust the length of the body and sleeves. If you plan to extend the body length, please refer to the YARN section for estimated yarn usage per additional 2.5 cm / 1”. You can also customize the number of buttons to suit your preference (please note that any modifications will affect the yarn requirements and button count).

These measurements can be achieved only with the correct gauge. Please select the size that gives you the desired ease based on the finished measurements. The model is 1 m 62 / 5’4” tall and is wearing a size 2, with approx. 40.5 cm / 16” of ease in the bust.

GAUGE
18 sts and 28 rows = 10 cm / 4” in stockinette stitch with 4.5 mm / US 7 needle, after blocking.

YARN
Worsted weight yarn.
1025 (1100, 1140, 1175) 1225, 1250, 1290 (1325, 1375, 1440) m / 1121 (1203, 1244, 1285) 1340, 1368, 1409 (1450, 1504, 1573) yds.
Body extension: Approx. 40 (40, 40, 45) 45, 45, 50 (50, 50, 50) m / 40 (45, 45, 45) 50, 50, 50 (55, 55, 55) yds extra per 2.5 cm / 1” of additional length.
The samples are size 2, each using 5 skeins of De Rerum Natura “Gilliatt” (250 m / 273 yds per 100 g skein) in Poivre.

NEEDLES
4.5 mm / US 7 & 4 mm / US 6 circular needles, 80 cm / 32” or longer AND needles suitable for working small circumferences in the round for sleeves.
One 4 mm / US 6 double-pointed needle for button band.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.

OTHER MATERIALS
Buttons (sample uses three 25 mm buttons), sewing thread and needle for attaching buttons, tapestry needle, stitch markers, removable markers and waste yarn.

Type-V Cardiganは、トップダウンで編むVネックのカーディガンです。ゆったりとした身頃と袖、前後差をつけた後ろ身頃、深めのヨークとクロップド丈の組み合わせでリラックス感のあるシルエットに仕上がりました。Tシャツにも厚めのトップスにも重ねやすい一着です。
衿ぐりから編み始め、後ろ衿下がりを作りながら首元を形作った後、変形ラグランでヨークを編み進めます。袖を分けた後、裾のリブまで往復編みで仕上げ、袖は輪編みで編みます。最後に、前立てから拾い目をして、１目ゴム編みの前立てを編みつけながらボタンホールを作っていきます。
トップダウンで編んでいくので、試着しながら身頃と袖の丈・ボタンの数をお好みで変えることができます（その場合は糸量・ボタン数が変わりますのでご注意ください）。身頃を長くする場合は、糸欄の「身頃の延長」をご確認いただき、2.5 cmごとの延長に必要な糸量の目安をお確かめください。
