Tyrsky is a light dress suitable for celebrations or for everyday use. You can style it with a shirt for the weekdays or for a festive look leave the shirt away.

Tyrsky is worked with a light fingering weight Finnish woollen spun wool which warms you up on cold moments. It has an airy construction so it suitable also as a light summer dress. The thin yarn assures the dress drapes beautifully and your hem will swing.

Tyrsky is started by working a tubular bust band which has a surfing (Tyrsky in Finnish) cable and gansey motif. The ends of the bust band are joined together by working a front panel. The stitches for the main body are picked up from the lower edge of the bust band. The body is worked with an easy drapey pattern, and two pockets with cable motif are added to the front. The hem is finished with an I-cord.

There are several possibilities for shoulder straps. You can knit them using your dress yarn, but you can also use yarn braids, work makrame or heddle or tablet wowen bands. You could even re-use old belts which make adjustable straps. The cedarwood buttons safeguard your dress as they keep moths away.

Materials
Yarn: Jalovilla Sorja, 100% wool, from sheep living ecological life, (100g= 560m) handdyed burgundy, 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 4) skeins. Total of 1150 (1350, 1500, 1700, 1850, 2050, 2200) m / 1260 (1480, 1640, 1860, 2030, 2250, 2410) yards.
Buttons: 9 Vuonue cedarwood buttons, circumference 15 mm.
Leather cord: 10 m / 11 yards, circumference approx. 2 mm.

Alternative yarns:
You can use any light fingering weight yarn, but this may affect the size of the dress, your gauge and the amount of yarn needed.

Needles: two US #2,5 (3,0) circulars of 40 cm, one of 80 cm and dpns.

Notions:
Cable needle, crochet hook, tapestry needle, stitch markers of which one different, stitch holders and waste yarn, optional row counter.

Gauge for stockinette in the round: 24 sts ja 34 rows = 4 inch-es / 10 cm with US #2,5 (3,0) needles, wet blocked.
Please make a swatch and select a suitable needle size to get the right gauge.

Tyrsky on kevyt liivihame, joka sopii sekä juhlaan että arkeen. Voit asustaa sen arkisesti puseron kanssa tai käyttää juhlavasti kapeaolkaimisena mekkona ilman aluspaitaa.

Tyrsky on neulottu ohuesta suomalaisesta villasta, joka lämmittää kylminä hetkinä. Se on malliltaan väljä, joten se sopii myös kuumiin kesäpäiviin hellemekoksi. Ohuen Jalovillan Sorja-langan ansiosta mekko on ilmava ja helmat heiluvat ihanasti.

Tyrsky aloitetaan neulomalla putkimainen rintakaitale, jossa on tyrskyn lailla etenevä palmikko- ja ganseykuvio. Kaitaleen päät liitetään neuloen yhteen keskellä edessä. Silmukat helmaosaa varten poimitaan rintakaitaleen alareunasta. Helmaosa on vohvelimaista laskeutuvaa helppoa mallineuletta, ja eteen tehdään kaksi palmikkokuvioitua taskua. Helma päätellään putkineuloksella.

Olkaimiin on useita vaihtoehtoja. Voit neuloa ne samasta langasta kuin mekon, mutta voit myös punoa, letittää tai käyttää pirta- tai lautanauhoja. Olkaimiksi voit kierrättää vaikka vanhat vyöt, jolloin saat niistä säädettävät. Seetripuiset napit pitävät mekostasi koit ja turkiskuoriaiset loitolla.

Lanka: Jalovilla Sorja, 100% villa, ekologisesti elävistä lampaista, (100g= 560m), käsinvärjätty viininpunainen, 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 4) vyyhtiä. Yhteensä 1150 (1350, 1500, 1700, 1850, 2050, 2200) m.
Napit: Vuonue, 9 seetripuunappia, halkaisija 15 mm.
Nahkanauha: 10 metriä, halkaisija noin 2 mm.

Vaihtoehtoiset langat:
Voit käyttää mitä light fingering-vahvuista lankaa haluat, mutta langan vahvuus voi vaikuttaa mekon kokoon, tiheyteen ja tar-vittavaan lankamäärään.

Puikot: 3,0 mm, kaksi 40 cm pyöröpuikkoa ja yksi 80 cm pyö-röpuikko sekä sukkapuikot.

Tarvikkeet: Palmikkopuikko, virkkuukoukku, neula, silmukka-merkkejä, joista yksi erilainen, silmukanpidikkeitä ja joutolankaa, tarvittaessa kerroslaskuri.

Tiheys sileälle neuleelle suljettuna neuleena: 24 s ja 34 krs = 10 x 10 cm 3,0 mm puikoilla, kasteltuna ja pingotettuna.
Neulo mallitilkku ja valitse työhön puikot, joilla saat oikean ti-heyden.
