This stranded colourwork cowl features an artistic representation of a UFO spaceship and is worked in a DK weight yarn.

Materials:
• One 3.75mm / US size 5 circular needle, 60cm / 24” in length, or size needed to meet the required gauge.
• One 3.25mm / US size 3 circular needle, 60cm / 24” in length, or size needed to meet the required gauge.
• 2 Stitch markers, optional, one of which is used to mark the beginning of round.
• Tapestry needle for sewing in threads.
• Blocking materials.
• Dk weight yarn in two colours, approximately 160m / 175yds of the Main Colour and approximately 85m / 93yds of the Contrast Colour. The sample is knitted in Elle Merino 100% superwash merino wool, 100m / 109yds per 100g, and is shown in colourways Black (Main Colour) and Silver (Contrast Colour).

One size. The cowl measures 67cm / 26” in circumference and 29cm / 11.5” in height.

24 stitches and 24 rounds = 10cm / 4” in stranded knitting, worked with larger needles in the round and blocked. Working to gauge ensures that your knitted item is the correct size and ensures that yardage requirements match those stated in the pattern.
