Design specifications
This shawl is knitted in the traditional rectangular Haapsalu style. It features a main lace body with a garter stitch border and separately knitted lace edging (worked in two parts), that is sewn onto the shawl afterwards. The distinctive feature of this design is that it can be knitted in different lengths, depending on the thickness of the yarn. The body consists of 6.5, 7.5 or 8.5 pattern repeats. The nupps are knitted with 9 loops each. The sample shown in the photos has 8.5 pattern repeats and contains 7184 nupps!
