ABOUT THE GARMENT

The Uma Bra is a tied bra with a bow in front. The bra gives a good bust coverage and I-Cord straps the necessary support. Skip the straps for a strapless design. The bra is designed to fit an individual bust circumference in the best way possible for the highest comfort. The shape hugs the bust closely.
The bow also allows the bra to be used as a nursing bra.

The Bra is knitted bottom up without any seams.
First, the folded edge is worked in rounds, where later on an elastic is inserted. The cups are formed with increases and short rows and knitted in rows. To create the bow, increases are worked on both ends of the row. The top edge is folded as well. The I-Cord straps are worked separately and sewn on on the inside.

SIZE GUIDE

The size guide uses two sizing schemes: one for the band size, which is proportional to the circumference under the bust, and one for the cup size, which is proportional to the difference in circumference between the bust and under the bust. To find your band size, measure the circumference immediately under your breasts. To find your cup size, measure your bust circumference and subtract your circumference under your breasts from this.

The band sizes are for an under-bust circumference of 58 (62, 66) 70 (74, 78) 82 (86, 90) 94 (98, 102) 106 (110, 114) cm / 22.75 (24.5, 26) 27.5 (29.25, 30.75) 32.25 (33.75, 35.5) 37 (38.5, 40.25) 41.75 (43.25, 45) inches.

The cup sizes are for a difference between bust circumference and under-bust circumference of 6 (8, 10) 12 (14, 16) 18 (20, 22) cm / 2.25 (3.25, 4) 4.75 (5.5, 6.25) 7 (7.75, 8.75) inches.

SUGGESTED NEEDLES

Circular needle 2.5 mm (US 1.5) with a length of 40 and 60 cm / 16 and 24 inches.

Circular needle 2.5 mm (US 1.5) with a length of 100 cm / 40 inches only for the cast on. Use this needle as needle on the bottom for pulling it through after cast on.

Double pointed needles 2.5 (US 1.5) mm for the straps.

MATERIALS

Compatible Cashmere, Knitting for Olive 25 g / 187 m

Due to the highly individual sizing, which will match your measurements, only an approximate yarn requirement can be given. This is given relative to your bust circumference at the widest point.

Bust circumference 65 – 85 cm / 25.5 – 33.5 in: 50 – 75 g
Bust circumference 85 – 100 cm / 33.5 – 39.25 in: 75 – 100 g
Bust circumference 100 – 120 cm /39.25 – 47.25 in: 100 – 125 g
Bust circumference 120 – 140 cm / 47.25 – 55 in: 125 – 150 g

Elastic of width 3.5 cm / 1.4 inches, length depending on your bust circumference plus 2.0 cm / 0.8 inches for the overlap to sew together.

Optional: Elastic thread for the top edge for a snug fit and to give a bit more support when wearing strapless. Insert 2-3 threads.
