Umbrous: Shady, leafy, sheltered, umbrageous.

Precisely what you want when you’re seeking refuge under a large, verdant tree.

This shawl is worked flat from the center top of the shawl down to its point. This pattern assumes you have a basic familiarity with top-down shawl construction and chart-reading knowledge.

You may modify the finished size of this shawl by increasing or decreasing the number of leaf repeats you complete, always making sure to complete the end of the leaf repeat section before moving on to the edging. Make changes to your yardage accordingly.

Materials:
Approximately 450 (450, 475, 575) yards lace (fingering, sport, dk/worsted) weight yarn
(I have tried to overestimate so you don’t run out of yarn for the recommended size. Keep in mind that your mileage may vary.)

Size 3.5 (4.0 mm, 4.0 mm, 5.0 mm) knitting needles, or size needed to give you gauge for your chosen yarn weight
