Yarn Used

Gauge
Over plain Stockinette stitch, 27 sts x 36 rounds = 4 inches/10 cm
Over stranded colourwork, 27 sts x 34 rounds = 4 inches/10 cm

NOTE: Opus is listed as a sport weight yarn but this gauge put it closer to a sock yarn. When substituting yarn, make sure to choose a yarn with similar yardage, similar suggested needle sizes, and gives you a soft fabric with some drape.

My parents were born and raised in England and I was fortunate to go there a few times to visit family when I was a kid. On one such visit, I was allowed to buy a souvenir stuffed hedgehog. I called him ‘Edgie the ‘Edge’og. On another visit to England, when I was much older, I was delighted to see a hedgehog ‘in the wild.’ He was sitting meekly on the path of a stone bridge. As I was designing my wee hedgehogs, I was imagining peering through a wrought iron gate to see a ‘wild’ hedgehog peeking out from under a hedge.

This sweater is knit top down, in the round, with yoke worked in stranded colourwork. I chose to have a white background for my hedgehogs, but the pattern would work just as well with a dark background and white hedgehogs. There are W&T short rows after the yoke to help with the fit.

This sweater can easily be made to measure your preference in body length.
