Under the Tree of Love is a Valentine’s Day inspired fingerless gloves/arm-warmers design featuring the intricate Tree of Love, arches, and columns that hug your arm and hand and keep them warm. The pattern is the second design from the Mitten Fantasy collection.

8/12/22 Update: The pattern has been updated with charts for full size mittens. The mitten version has no written instructions, charts only.

2/17/22 Update: The pattern has been updated to include a small version to better fit adults with small hands and/or teens and a version where the thumb is finished first which results in fewer ends to weave in at the end.

Materials
• US Size 0 (2mm) set of dpns or circular needles (for Magic Loop method); US size 00 (1.75mm) for ribbing (optional)
• Fingering weight yarn – about 231y/50g (211m/50g): BC – 111y/24 g, CC1 – 120y/26 g, CC2 – 9y/2 g (the second contrast color is optional, it can be used to add design details in duplicate stitch after the knitting is done)

Notes

  1. Size: The mitts start with either 64 or 60 stitches which are then increased to 82 stitches for the thumb gusset.
  2. Stranded colorwork: Follow the charts from right to left. Catch longer floats using preferred method. If desired, add design details with CC2 using duplicate stitch technique, as shown in charts, otherwise, knit in CC1.
