These socks were designed in honor of Kathleen, the yarn dyer behind Republica Unicornia Yarns. Kathleen is a wealth of inspiration and love, with one of the best colorway libraries in the whole gig. From bonkers Unicorn Smoothie to sedate Ventura Highway, there’s something for everyone from Kathleen. And most importantly, she’s just an amazing human whom I’m honored to know. She’s an avid brioche lover, so I couldn’t design a pair of socks in her honor without some brioche involved!

~~~
They are knit in half brioche stitch (very brioche-beginner-friendly) from the cuff down with a modified heel flap and gusset. A few short rows assist with row gauge differences along the foot. Try using up mini skeins or leftovers with stripes along the leg in either the foreground or background!
Links to tutorials and descriptions of stitches used in half brioche are included, as well as instructions on shadow wrap short rows.
