/////////////////////////////////////

The inspiration for this mid-season sweater comes from the Usillo, a native shrub that produces tiny, highly fragrant white flowers in the spring. I have several in my garden, and their scent is one of the hallmarks of springtime at my home.

This design is worked top-down, starting at the neckline. Increases are worked at four points until reaching the desired measurements, while simultaneously working a simple lace pattern. This creates a relaxed, oversized, and lightweight structure.
Once the sleeves and body are separated, balanced increases are continued until the required length is achieved. At that point, short rows are worked on both sides to level out the length of the side seams with the center front and back. The same technique is applied to the sleeves.
