I live on a working farm and sometimes i need to step out for a min. During the cold/chilly months, I wanted something to grab and put on for just a step outside and to wear around the house cuz im ALWAYS cold. I didnt want to mess with shawl pins or having to keep putting this thing on my shoulders right. And I would be working around the house/farm in this and lace was NOT an option….So I made this….. Faroese Shawl. I practically live in this thing during the winter/cold months!!

This shawl is knit from the top down.
Written directions.
I also give measurments in the pattern so you can sub yarn and needles for it.

Some stuff you need……..

Yarn: Lion Brand Homespun, (98% acrylic, 2% polyester; 185 yd 169 m/170g/6 oz): 3 skeins.
Or, whatever you got.

Color: There is so many, you pick. The pictured shawl was done in Barley.

Needles: Size 13 (9.0 mm)60 inch/150cm circular needle. Optional: US 13 Straights or DPN’s. (but you still need the mammoth size circular. and I used every inch. )

Notions: 6 ring markers, 1 saftey pin or lock marker or whatever you got to mark the right side.
What I did: I strung a bead on one of my ring markers to indicate the first marker of the right side. Because I didn’t want to keep moving the saftey pin…..im lazy.

Gauge: 3spi
