Valoa is a triangular, textured shawl worked sideways from one corner of the triangle towards the opposite corner. The shawl features star- and diamond-shaped motifs worked in 1-over-1 stitch Cable pattern. An integrated i-cord finishes the edges on each side. Elongated stitches secure elasticity of the lower edge.

The pattern includes written instructions and charts.

1/1 (1-over-1 st) cable crosses can be worked without a cable needle.
See, for example, a method explained here by Kate Atherley (under the headline Two-Stitch Cables): Techniques in Depth: Cabling Without a Cable Needle – Modern Daily Knitting

Note: This pattern has not been tech-edited or test-knitted.
