This is a top-down cardigan pattern. You begin by casting on stitches for the upper back to shape the dropped shoulders. After increasing for the armholes, the back is set aside. Stitches are then picked up along one shoulder for each front, shaping the round neckline as you go. Once both fronts are complete, the front and back pieces are joined and worked in one piece for the body.

For the sleeves, stitches are picked up around the armhole and short rows are used to shape the sleeve cap, followed by decreases to finish the sleeves. The pattern is designed with a semi-oversized fit, allowing for approximately 15–20 cm (6–8”) of positive ease. Choosing your regular size or one size down is recommended.

The shoulder line and sleeve cap resemble those of a bottom-up construction, giving it a structured look. The pattern is written out in full, with a video tutorial available only for the sleeve cap section.

This pattern includes reference videos for selected steps.
