Varietal Sweater is a basic seamless top-down sweater. The neck is shaped with German Short Rows. Increases are distributed along the yoke. Then, the sleeves and the body are separated and both are knitted in the round in stockinette stitch. Instructions for short and long sleeves are included.

The pattern is available in 9 adult sizes. The sweater I’m wearing in the photo is size 3, with 8 cm/3.25 in of positive ease. For reference, I am 170 cm/5.58 ft tall and my bust circumference is 96 cm/38.5 in.

Due to its simplicity, this pattern is ideal to be your first top-down sweater with circular yoke. The techniques used are: Cable Cast On, German Short Rows and the Lori Twisted Bind Off, as well as increases and decreases. If you are an experienced knitter, you can enjoy a relaxed knit, which will turn into a classic and sober model, or into a canvas to experiment with colorful yarns.

BASIC INFORMATION

Sizes: (1, 2, 3) (4, 5, 6) {7, 8, 9}.

Final Bust Circumference: (84, 93, 104) (113, 124, 133) {144, 153, 162} cm/(33.5, 37.25, 41.5) (45.25, 49.5, 53.25) {57.5, 61.25, 64.75} in.

Suggested ease: between 7 cm/2.75 in and 14 cm/5.5 in of positive ease.

To choose your size, add the desired ease to the actual measurement of your bust and then look in the table for the closest one. For example: if your bust measures 86 cm/34.5 in, you should knit size 2 which has a final measurement of 93 cm/37.25 in (with 7 cm/2.75 in of positive ease).

Gauge: 18 sts x 26 rounds (10 cm/4 in) in stockinette stitch worked in the round and after wet blocking.

Suggested needles: 4.5 mm/US 7 circular needles or the size needed to achieve the gauge (main needle). 3.5 mm/US 4 circular needles for the ribbing or three sizes smaller than the main needle. The length of the needles can be varied as needed. To work small circumferences (such as collar or sleeves) you can use double pointed needles, short circular needles or long circular needles using the magic loop technique.

Weight: DK or two strands of yarn held together (fingering and lace).

One strand of Rosarios4 Merino Land (100% merino superwash) 220 m/50 g (240 yd/1.75 oz) color 29 (yellow sample) and 23 (green sample) together with a strand of Rosarios4 Aurora (70% mohair, 30% silk) 210 m/25 g (229 yd/0,88 oz) color 13 (yellow sample) and 53 (green sample).

For long sleeve version:
ca. (770, 845, 930) (1030, 1095, 1220) {1310, 1420, 1480} m/(840, 925, 1015) (1125, 1200, 1335) {1435, 1555, 1620} yd of Rosarios4 Merino Land or similar fingering weight yarn,

Varietal Sweater es un jersey básico de canesú redondo. Se teje en circular de arriba hacia abajo y sin costuras. Para elevar la parte trasera del escote se tejen algunas Vueltas Cortas Alemanas. El canesú lleva aumentos distribuidos uniformemente. Luego, se separan las mangas y el cuerpo, los que se tejen en forma circular en punto jersey. Se incluyen instrucciones para manga corta y larga.

El patrón está disponible en 9 tallas para adulto. El sweater que uso en la foto es talla 3, con 8 cm/3.25 in de holgura. Como referencia, mido 170 cm/5 ft 7 in de altura y mi circunferencia de busto es 96 cm/38.5 in.

Holgura recomendada: entre 7 cm/2.75 in y 14 cm/5.5 in de holgura positiva.

Para elegir tu talla, debes sumar la holgura deseada a la medida real de tu busto y luego buscar en la tabla la medida que más se aproxime. Por ejemplo: si tienes una medida de busto de 86 cm/34.5 in, debes tejer la talla 2 que tiene una medida final de 93 cm/37.25 in (con 7 cm/2.75 in de holgura positiva).

Muestra de Tensión: 18 puntos x 26 corridas (10 cm/4 in) con las agujas principales en punto jersey, tejida en circular y bloqueada.

Tamaño de aguja sugerida: Aguja circular principal de 4.5 mm/US 7, o la que necesites para obtener la tensión requerida. Aguja circular de 3.5 mm/US 4 o tres tamaños más pequeña que la aguja principal para tejer elásticos del cuello, cuerpo y mangas. El largo del cable de las agujas puede variar según se necesite. Para tejer circunferencias pequeñas (como cuello o mangas) puedes usar agujas de doble punta, agujas circulares cortas o agujas circulares largas usando la técnica de magic loop.
