The Ventana Cowl evokes the splendor of California Condors soaring over the mountains and coast.

The Ventana Wilderness, part of the Los Padres National Forest along the Central Coast of California, has been repopulated with condors by the Ventana Wildlife Society.

The cowl is worked in one piece. Beginning with a cast on of 3 stitches, increases and decreases are worked to form the body of the cowl. Applied I-cord edging binds off the live stitches. The cowl is finished by seaming the two short diagonal edges together.
