This jumper was designed and whilst I was binge-watching old episodes of Vera. I absolutely love her down to earth nature and her no-nonsense utilitarian style. I think this jumper would appeal to her as it is simple enough to work on whilst busy with other things, but with that bit of interest that keeps you wondering what the next part will look like. And I am sure she would love the use of scraps left over from making socks to create the sleeves of this sweater.

It is knitted top down, in the round. The raglan sleeves are knitted together with the yoke, then separated when you get to the body. They are picked up later and also knitted in the round.

The yarn used is West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4-ply. The main colour is a solid yarn, with a variegated yarn to create a contrast on the arms. The sample uses Dusty Miller with scraps of Blue Tit, Mallard, Owl and Wood Pigeon.
