This is a fun and interesting pattern featuring my local yarn shop The Clay Purl’s “Old Favorite Sock Yarn” in the colorway “Iris Garden”. It features “planned pooling” or “assigned pooling.” Substitute with any sock yarn that is mostly solid but has a little burst of color in the skein.

The dandelion stitch is an easy to memorize stitch, so that makes this a perfect pattern for on the go or watching your favorite show.

The assigned pooling (color burst) should be about 7” in length, but a little longer (as in the sample project) works well. You could even have fun with a solid yarn or any yarn that you desire.

There is a picture tutorial at the end of the pattern that demonstrates the dandelion stitch.

Two options are available for your bind off (simple garter stitch bind off or picot bind off).

You will need:
1 skein sock yarn (with assigned pooling)
Size 4 circular needles (32” preferred)
Tapestry needle
Locking stitch marker

I hope you enjoy this pattern!
