Vinkel shawl can be knitted in any size and in yarn weights ranging from light fingering to worsted. The shawl is worked from the bottom tip and up in a combination of broken rib stitch and garter stitch. The wide and shallow triangle shape makes it perfect for everything from little scarves to big winter shawls. Increases are worked along the edges and include a dropped yarn over for stretchy edges.

SIZE: Vinkel can be knitted in any size. Since it is worked from the bottom tip and up, simply bind off when you are happy with the size!
Red shawl: approx. 80 cm wide, 20 cm deep
Light blue shawl: approx. 130 cm wide, 33 cm deep
Oatmeal shawl: approx. 240 cm wide, 60 cm deep
Cobalt blue shawl: approx. 300 cm wide, 65 cm deep

GAUGE: This pattern works in - if not any gauge, so at least in many gauges! The sample shawls have a gauge of approx. 18 sts and 36 rows = 10 cm (red and blue shawls) and 14 sts and 28 rows = 10 cm (oatmeal shawl) in broken rib stitch.

SUGGESTED NEEDLES and NOTIONS: Sample shawls are knitted with 3.5-5 mm circular needles, choose the needle size that suits your yarn. Stitch markers, tapestry needle, blocking needles/wires.

YARN: Soft, plied yarn with good elasticity, light fingering to worsted. You can also combine yarns, for example hold a fingering or sport wool yarn together with a laceweight alpaca thread.
Red: 25 g Imagine Soft merino thin (334 m/100 g), 3.5 mm needles
Light blue: 60 g Filcolana Pernilla (350 m/100 g), 4 mm needles
Oatmeal: 200 g Gilliatt (250 m/100 g), 5 mm needles
Cobalt: 220 g Semilla Melange (350 m/100 g), 4 mm needles

Sjalen Vinkel kan stickas i valfri storlek och garn, sjalen stickas nerifrån och upp i en kombination av pärlresår och rätstickning. Den breda grunda triangelformen gör den perfekt till alltifrån små scarfar till stora vintersjalar. Ökningar görs längs kanterna på sjalen och inkluderar “tappade” omslag för elastiska kanter.

STORLEK: Vinkel kan stickas i vilken storlek som helst. Då den stickas nedifrån och upp maskar du helt enkelt av när du är nöjd med storleken (eller får slut på garn)!
