This is the perfect project for holiday wear. Check out the Vintage Christmas Light Pullover and Vintage Christmas Light Socks.

I remember, when I was little, Christmas lights all seemed to go up in the neighbourhood around the same time. It was as if all the Dads were waiting for the first one to break out the ladder. As soon as one started, the rest would follow. The lights were all big and clumsy, rattling as they clunked together, sometimes smashing as they hit each other, with the electrical cord invariably tangled around itself. All along the neighbourhood you could hear Dads cursing under their breath as they searched for the one bulb that was broken or untangled the cord as they tried not to break any bulbs. In no time though, the lights would create a magical glow, marking the beginning of the Christmas season.

Choose traditional Christmas light colours or something different for a modern twist. Add length by repeating your favourite chart. Use sock yarn and US3 (3.25mm) needle for a lighter version. Or, twist the fabric at one end before sewing together.

A provisional cast on edge is used for grafting at the end to create a seamless cowl.
