Viridescent is an elegant, ultra-feminine crescent-shaped shawl featuring repeating rows of garter and stockinette stitch punctuated with elongated stitches for a delicious, lacy texture. The gently ruffled border is femininity defined!

A straightforward knit, Viridescent is suitable for advanced beginners. The pattern was designed especially for (and using!) Amanda Makes Yarn’s luxurious Duplicity Fingering -- a kettle-dyed 50/50 merino/alpaca 2-ply that comes in 438 yard skeins. The colorway Jadeite was used for the sample.

Using a US 7 circular needle (36”) results in a sheer, airy fabric. Two options are included for the ruffle: subtle and full; a US 8 dpn is recommended for the BO to keep the ruffled edge nice and stretchy for blocking. Tips for shaping/blocking are included.

Stitches/techniques: CO, K, P, K1fb, P1fb, ES (elongated stitch), and BO.
