Update 6/17/21: It was noted on my second working of this pattern that the first 6 rows of the pattern were documented incorrectly. I have updated the pattern upload to reflect the correction.

This waffle stitch top-down sweater is the perfect chunky sweater for fall and winter. It’s top-down design makes it good for crocheters who wish to dabble in garment making, as it requires no seeming.

Being my first garment design, I can only offer it in the single size I created. If additional sizes are created in the future, I will offer them. In the meantime, sizing can be increased by continuing the row 5/6 repeat for a few more rows before continuing on at my written row 14.

This pattern is worked from the neck down in rows (NOT rounds) starting with the body, the garment is then finished off at the desired length. From there, the arms are started at the underarm and worked from the top down until desired length. The arm is tapered to create a fitted arm, although could be worked with no decreases for a more belled appearance.
