Waiting for Gigot is a streamlined spin on the classic gigot sleeve style. Named by the French to resemble the back leg of a sheep or mutton, the traditional gigot sleeve is billowy and balloon-like at the top and narrow and fitted at the bottom. Here the upper arm portion of the sleeve is shaped by knitting the sleeve longer and then making a tuck and tacking down with a few stitches (instructions/photos included). While this pattern is simple and straightforward to knit, color blocks reverse from the body to sleeve to provide visual interest. The sweater is worked flat in pieces and seamed.
