The Waratah is a native plant found on the east coast of Australia, famous for its bright red, textured flowers. This crochet pattern shows you how to make your own Waratah flower. Suitable for beginner to intermediate crocheters.

Tip: The yarn and hook listed are a guide — you can use any yarn you like, just match your hook to your yarn choice.

Materials

1x 50g ball of 8ply red yarn
1x 50g ball of 8ply green yarn
3.25mm crochet hook
Stuffing
1x 22 gauge floristry wire for the main flower stem (approx 45cm long)
5x 20 gauge wires for the leaves (approx 23cm long)
Scissors
Fabric glue or hot glue gun
Tape
