The Water Lilies scarf is another pattern in my Monet-inspired series of crochet patterns. Claude Monet painted approximately 250 paintings in his Water Lily series, depicting the flowers in his garden pond at his home in Giverny.

The Water Lilies scarf is a lightweight mesh on one side, and has points, that resemble the petals of a Water Lily on the other side. Crocheted from tip to tip, the first section increases in width gradually from the starting tip. Then, in the middle section the scarf stays the same width. Lastly, the decrease section reduces the width down to the ending tip. The petal edging is crocheted as you go, so when you reach the ending tip you are finished!

The pattern is an easy six-row repeat for each section. The Water Lilies scarf is a fun, fast project that makes an easy-to-wear and wrap scarf. The scarf shown was crocheted with MadelineTosh Merino Light yarn that comes in some really amazing speckled and hand-painted colorways. Or, pick your favorite color of sock or fingering weight yarn and crochet this beautiful scarf.
