My “Water Mill” scarf was made from: Patons “Shetland Chunky Tweeds” bulky weight yarn(72% acrylic, 25% wool, 3% viscose) in color: Light grey.
Total amount needed: 340 g/500 yds (4 skeins x 85 g/114 m/125 yds)
Circular needle: US 10 (6 mm) / 24” −32 “.
Gauge: 15 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4” x 4” in garter stitch.
Finished size: 23 x 160 cm / 9” x 63”.
It is also depends on your choice of yarn and needles as well the individual gauge.

Notes:
You can use any type of yarn to knit your scarf. I made mine with a super bulky yarn although you can use worsted weight or chunky as well. It’s up to you and what you want your scarf to look like.

While this is an long scarf knitting pattern, you can make it any size you like. It doesn’t have to be a super size. Any way you want to knit it, it will look wonderful and cozy.

Needle: Adjust needle sizes if necessary to get the gauge you like. Knitted fabric should be not too stiff so the scarf will drape nicely

Other: One darning needle for sewing and for weaving in all ends, two stitch markers and one cable needle (this short needle can be straight double-pointed or hooked). Markers are optional.

Take time to make a swatch that you wash and block to make sure you will achieve the gauge you like!
