Here is another scarf in the Picture Climate Change series. It is based on the measurements of the accurate global temperature 6 Colour Climate Scarf and shows the impact of global warming on the gradual decrease of water and steady increase of fire danger in some places through the changing size of the droplets across the length of the scarf.

While increased drought and fire danger is true of many parts of Australia, in other places, such as those that traditionally relied on glacier melt, the picture may be more realistic if the water drops give out when they lost that water source. resulting in dry land (sand or cracked clay of appropriate colours). The reverse would also work if you want to picture polar ice melting; from grey/white (snowflakes?) to shades of blue.

The idea was inspired by creating a climate scarf from Frosted Hazel Leaf by VeraT which can be seen on Global Warming Leaves.

I have provided details of the proof of concept example but you could really do this design in any yarn with any needles and any gauge that suits your artistic vision. Instructions are given for two types of water droplet and the flames and suggestions of improvement are also supplied.
