Waves and Sails is a brain child from my reminiscences of the sea shore. The lace & cable pattern reminds me of a sailboat on the waves. It is written so that you can use whatever sock technique makes you happy.

WAVES & SAILS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR FREE UNTIL APRIL 30, 2023. After that it will be for sale for USD $3.00.

The pattern works up quickly, and holds the knitter’s interest throughout the entirety of the sock. I used 85% wool/15% nylon, but it could easily be worked in a wool/silk or a wool/cotton blend. If you choose a non-wool option, check your gauge carefully: you will likely have to go down a needle size or two.

Because the pattern uses measurements for lengths, rather than numbers of rows, your row gauge is inconsequential.

The pattern accommodates women’s shoe sizes from EU 34 TO 41, and US 4 -11. Measurements are given both in metric and imperial.

You’ll need the following items:

 50 - 75 g yarn (I used 60 g of yarn to make US size 7).
 DPN's, 9" circulars, 2 circulars, or 1 long circular
Several stitch markers in two distinct colors or styles
A cable needle or spare DPN
 Tapestry needle
To make the cables easier to manage I used a 2mm crochet
hook to manipulate the stitches; this is optional.

As always, I am available for pattern help - just message me here on Ravelry.
