Waves and Shells is a cool little shoulder warmer for those sultry summer date nights. The pattern flow reminds me of the way the waves ripple on our sugary-sandy Alabama beaches. You cast on from the lower edge, decreasing your way to the neckline. Plus, I’ve discovered a way to make bobbles that doesn’t require turning your project back and forth or trying to knit backwards.

I’m totally thrilled that MadTosh selected me as one of their Independent Studio Designers!!! Waves and Shells will be included in their #MTSTudioDesign collection.

Bonus lengths of 14 and 16” are now included. Yardage is estimated at this time.

This pattern has charts, written instructions and a link to a video tutorial for the bobbles.

For those who are a bit adventurous, additional instructions are included, to modify this into a true poncho. The yardage is just estimated for these modifications, so you have to understand I can’t guarantee how much you will need. Poncho lengths are estimated to be 14” and 16”. DK/ worsted weight could be substituted as well to create a larger poncho. Be daring!
For example:
Size medium, 16” length poncho in DK yarn used 870 yards. Due to the weight of the yarn and the looseness of the knitter, her poncho grew to 20”.

Size X-small, 14” length poncho in DK/worsted used 600 yards and size 8 needles - final measurement grew to 18” due to the extreme softness of the yarn and needle size.

Size small and medium in the 14” length using fingering weight is estimated to be 700-800 yards.

A testimonial from Roberta, a lovely knitter whose age is somewhere over 90…“The patterns Eebie writes are so clear and easy to follow. Makes my knitting journey so much more enjoyable. Also very creative.”

I’d like to thank my awesome test knitters. As well as Mary, the best tech editor on the world!
