I designed this pattern to show off one of my favourite stitches, a lace stitch that creates beautiful elegant waves.

Some things you might like to know before downloading the pattern.

Finished Size.
25cm high by 51cm circumference.

Skill Level.
Advanced beginner.

Skills Required.
Cast on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, knitting two stitches together, yarn over, knitting in the round and cast off.

Materials Required.
150m aran weight yarn to knit the cowl pattern as written.
4.5mm 50cm circular needles, or size needed to obtain tension.
Stitcher marker (recommended but optional)
Darning needle to sew in ends.

Tension/Gauge.
Ball band tension 16 stitches x 23 rows on 5mm needles.

Notes
This cowl is knit in the round from the bottom up.
I used the cable cast and standard cast off but any cast on/off with a little stretch will work.
The pattern is written in a line by line format only, no charts.
The lace pattern repeat is 6 stitches and 10 rows.
Two downloads are available one with pictures and one without.
With a tension square and a bit of maths this pattern is easily adapted to other yarn weights.
