Stashdive for your scraps and partial balls for this fun hat which uses slipped stitches (no stranding) for the pattern.
The pattern is charted.

Gauge: 24 stitches and 36 rows in slipped stitch ribbon pattern in 10 cm (4 inches) on your larger needles before blocking. Differences in gauge will affect the size of the finished hat and your yarn usage.
Sizing: Adult M (L) to suit head circumference 56 (61) cm/22 (24) inches. Height with brim folded: approx. 22.5 (25.5) cm /9 (10) inches. Size L has less built-in negative ease. If you prefer a tighter brim, go down an additional needle size for the rib.
Needle sizes: 3.75mm (US 5) and 4.00mm (US 6) or size required to obtain gauge.
Yarn: Dk weight yarn around 200 m/220 y per 100g (3.5oz). The sample used a main colour (MC), a single contrast colour (CC1) for the narrow ‘ribbons’ and odds and ends of leftover contrast yarns (CC2 through CC7 (CC8 for size L)) for the wide ‘ribbons’. For MC, allow 100-150 m/110-155 y. The size M sample used 100 m/110 y). Allow 15g for CC1 and approx. 5-8g for each of CC2 – CC7(8). Stashdive for scraps from your favourite projects.
