Each Wednesday Night, me and my knitting friends meet at a local restaurant for dinner and a few hours of knitting. One night, I was working on this shawl and having a bit of trouble. The group made several suggestions and the design took of from there. It is a skinny, asymmetrical triangle knit in garter stitch for the main body with a lace edging that is quickly memorized. Once you’ve used up about 90% of your yarn, the garter rows stop and the lace points are worked
individually, binding off 4 stitches each. Pay attention to your remaining weight to help you determine when to start the bind of edging points.

You can use a single skein of most fingering weight yarns. As long as you pay attention to the number of points and your remaining weight, you will be able to knit the bind off edges without running out. While I used a size 3 needle, feel free to go up a size or 2 to get the fabric you like or to make it more airy.

A photo tutorial is included to demonstrate how and where to pick up stitches for the bind off points.

The pattern is good for an advanced beginner. Stitches used include, knit, purl, ssk, k2tog, central double decrease (instructions given), and yarn over. Other techniques used include binding off and picking up stitches.
