This leg of the wee tiny sock is knit flat. The letters are cross stitched on, then the work is joined in the round for the foot. The pattern begins with simple garter stitch, and progressively incorporates new stitches, including stockinette, seed stitch, ribbing and eyelets.

The cross stitch is done using a 4 plies of an 8 ply fingering weight yarn. Embroidery floss or a lace weight yarn could be substituted.

This is the September 2010 pattern for the Wee Tiny Sock Club.
