The Welsh Dragon spends his days sleeping and drinking tea (with bara brith of course) – and his nights flying around his beautiful country, warding off other dragons. He sits 8 inches tall (when made with the recommended materials).

The 8 page pattern is intermediate skill level and is available in US and UK terminology – both versions will be available for you to download. It is clear to follow with detailed instructions and lots of pictures for step by step making and assembly. There are also picture instructions for colour change, back loop only and picot stitch.

The following stitches/techniques are used in this pattern:
US Terminology - slip stitch, magic ring, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, increase, decrease (sc2tog), colour change, back loop only
UK Terminology - slip stitch, magic ring, double crochet, half treble, treble, increase, decrease (dc2tog), colour change, back loop only

  • Stuffing: I use polyester filling
  • Safety eyes: I have used 12mm plastic safety eyes, but you can embroider the eyes on if you prefer
