• West Lynne Beanie
This beanie was designed for West Lynne Wool using their Double knitting weight yarn. West Lynne Wool celebrates the culmination of six generations of crofters and their sheep with a special blend of wool from their ancestral home. The wool is available in both jumper weight (4ply) and double knitting and it is wonderful to work with! It produces lovely crisp colourwork yet is equally as good for cabled work such as used in another of my designs - the Shieldmaiden Headband. I’ve chosen to incorporate the West Lynne logo into my design - after all everyone loves a sheep! Decreases at the crown form a lovely star motif.
The pattern is knitted entirely in the round, rib upwards, and decreases at the crown use centered double decreases (CDD) a link is attached if you have not used this technique before.

West Lynne Wool 100% Shetland wool (110m/50g) 1x 50g ball in each of the following shades:
• MC Natural White
• CC1 Dark Blue
• CC2 Lichen
• If you purchase a 100g ball of both MC and CC1 then you will be able to reverse the colours of the body to make the version shown on the rear of the pattern. 1 50g ball CC2 will be ample to make both beanies. Please note version 1 has an extra band of sheep to make a deeper beanie, there will be ample yarn to make either version using 100g balls of yarn.
