Whale Tail Tote
Make a splash with the Whale Tail Tote, a striking mosaic crochet pattern inspired by that magical moment when a whale dives beneath the ocean’s surface. The bold centerpiece features the fluke of a whale just before it disappears into the deep. Whether you love whales or dream of seaside adventures, this tote is a beautiful and functional way to bring a little bit of the ocean wherever you go.

ABOUT MOSAIC CROCHET
Mosaic crochet uses one color per row to create graphic imagery — no yarn is carried along the back of the work. This project has the added bonus of working in the round from the bottom up - no ends to weave in!

This pattern is divided into 4 sections (2 pages each) and is worked in the round from the bottom up. I would suggest using the Knit Companion app (my personal preference as it is brilliant and saves on printer ink and paper), but I have also included layout instructions for the charts if you prefer to print out your pages. The written pattern sections correlate with the charts so they can be used together. I have also included a full chart on one page for those who wish to use Knit Companion (or similar technology) without all the page breaks.
Special thanks to Victoria Crouse, Cheryl Baldwin, Kathy Gleich, Shirley Sola Osborn, and Tracy Hughes for testing this pattern.
