Toe up – subtle left and right. Sport weight is faster to work than the usual fingering weight, and although the pattern stitch might slow your progress a little, they’re still gratifyingly quick.

If you want to get fancy, you could also work the pattern on the back of the leg, too. The first time you hit Row 17 of the Main repeat on the front of the leg, work Row 1 of the chart in the same position on the back of the leg. From there, Rows 2-9 line up with 10 to 17 of the main chart, and then as soon as you’ve completed 9, you will be working the same chart row on both sides of the leg.

Please note that comfort with chart reading is a must, as this pattern is currently provided in charted form only.
