Lake hat is worked from the brim up, in the round. Casting on with tubular cast on or long tail cast on, the brim is worked in a 1X1 rib. After this the rest of the hat is knitted after a chart, and/or written instructions. At the end the top stitches are sewn together.

Sizes:

One size.

Head circumference:

51-56 cm/ 20-22 inches.

Finished hat circumference:

42 cm/ 16,5 inches; non stretched, and to be worn with negative ease.

Gauge:

Stockinette in the round = with main needles -16 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm {4 x 4 inches} in lace pattern worked in the round.

The given gauge is after washing and light blocking.
Suggested needle and hook size:

Main needles:

5,5 mm {US 9} circular needles (40 cm {16 inches}. And double pointed needles or circular 100 cm/ 40 inches (magic loop) for small circumference.

Smaller needle:

4,5 mm {US 7}. (40 cm {16 inches}.

Yarn:

1 strand of DK to worsted weight yarn.
2 strands together of light fingering, fingering or sport weight.

Yarn used in sample: 1 strand – Sandnes Garn – Peer Gynt –100% wool. (50g = 91 m/ 89 yds).

NOTE: The drape of the fabric will change and have a different look if choosing another yarn, swatching is the key to get the fabric you prefer.
